3-D Space wants to save Robot Monster

A non-profit arts organization located in Los Angeles aims to restore a notoriously bad, sci-fi movie from 1953.

3-D Space is, according to its website, intended to be a museum, gallery, theater, library and classroom dedicated to both the preservation of the history of stereoscopic imaging, and the advancement of current and future 3-D arts and sciences.

The movie slated for restoration is Robot Monster (aka Monster from Mars) which is considered to be among the worst movies ever made. The low-budget film has become a cult classic due to its so-bad-it's-good, B-movie ineptness.

The movie's monster is what appears to be a gorilla from space wearing a diving helmet and whom apparently is a big fan of Lawrence Welk.

Here's the opening of The Lawrence Welk Show.

Previously, 3-D Space successfully launched a campaign to restore the movie September Storm. If you would like them to do the same with Robot Monster, let them know.
